The 2019 Oregon fireworks retail sales season is open through July 6. If you choose to purchase and use legal fireworks in Oregon before and during the Fourth of July holiday, remember fireworks are prohibited on all state or federal forestland, Oregon state parks, and beaches.

Oregon law prohibits the possession, use, or sale of any firework that flies more than 12 inches into the air, explodes, or behaves in an unpredictable manner without a permit issued by the Oregon State Fire Marshall (see graphic below).

Officials may seize illegal fireworks, charge offenders with a Class B misdemeanor, and issue penalties. Visit the Oregon State Fire Marshall’s website for more information. Check local ordinances for additional restrictions.

Have a happy and safe summer!
